Butterfly valve is a valve which can be used for isolating or regulating flow. According to DIN design standard, Sedelon® can provide you DIN Butterfly valves.
The body of Butterfly valves may be made of metals. Such as: Forged Steel Butterfly valves, Stainless Steel Butterfly valves, Alloy Butterfly valves, Bronze Butterfly valves Cast Steel Butterfly valves and Carbon Steel Butterfly valves ect,. Sedelon® mainly produces Forged Steel Butterfly valves according to the standard of API 609 and Stainless Steel Butterfly valves according to the standard of API 603, we call them API 609 Forged Steel Butterfly valves and API 603 Stainless Steel Butterfly valves. The body can also be made of Non-metal Materials. For example, Ceramic Butterfly valves are erosion-resisting, wear-resisting, cavitation-resisting and antioxidant.Besides that, some Butterfly valves materials are special, like:Special Alloy Butterfly valves, Special Steel Butterfly valves and Hastelloy Butterfly valves ect.Transmitting and processing of media that are heavily corrosive, Duplex Stainless Steel Butterfly valves or super Stainless Steel Butterfly valves are usually selected to mitigate the problems for they can work well in the area with corrosive surroundings.
According to the connection type, Butterfly valves can be divided into 4 types.
1,Wafer Butterfly valves
Equipped with a tightly fitting seal, o ring and a flat valve face, Wafer Butterfly valves have a good control of flow, which assuring unidirectional flow.
2,Flanged Butterfly valves
These Flanged Butterfly valves are with flanges on both ends. The flange ends connect with the flanges on the pipeline by bolts.
3,Lug-Style Butterfly valves
A Lug-Style Butterfly valve has a function of reducing pressure rating.
4Welded Butterfly valves
Butt Weld Butterfly valves and Socket Weld Butterfly valves are two commonly used Welded Butterfly valves. These kinds of valves are of enclosed type, helping to both on-off and regulate service.
The operation of Butterflyvalves is simple, generally are hand wheel operated (Hand Wheel Butterfly Valves).When the valves need large amount of starting force, we can choose Gear Operated Butterfly valves which can save effort.Generally speaking, Big SizeButterflyvalves are gear operated.Some SD(Sedelon ®) Butterfly valves are equipped with a pneumatic actuator (Pneumatic Actuator Butterfly valves) or motor operated (Electric Motor Butterfly valve).
Different kinds of Butterfly valves are adopted for different pressures and different usage.
A Resilient Seated Concentric Butterfly Valve utilizes the flexibility and resilience of rubber, has the lowest pressure rating.
The High Performance Butterfly valve is the vale which is suited for slightly high-pressure systems. Under high pressure, Sedelon's High Pressure Butterfly valves are good choices.Concerned about the pressure, a By-pass Butterfly valve is a pressure release system whose purpose is to reduce wear on the engine. By -pass Butterfly valves are generally flanged type.Sedelon provides different valves under different operating conditions, especially different temperatures. High Temperature Butterfly valves, Low Temperature Butterfly valves / Cryogenic Butterfly valves and Jacket Butterfly valves are adopted to work under different operating temperatures. Jacket Butterfly valves help to prevent the line fluid's temperature loss.For high temperature conditions, we can also select High Nickel Alloy Butterfly valves.
The Triple Offset Butterfly valve makes use of a metal seat, which is able to withstand high pressure. They are commonly used in oil and gas, chemical factories, and shipbuilding.
Triple Offset Butterfly valves are Bidirectional triple eccentric designed. The materials of seats and discs are different. triple Butterfly valves adopt a resilient rubber seat with a metal disc.triple Eccentric Butterfly Valves can solve the problem of severe extrusion between butterfly plate and seats.
